Care Center Joins National Launch of PhilHealth’s YAKAP Program
Care Center Clinic is proud to be part of a historic step forward in Philippine healthcare. On July 25, 2025, PhilHealth officially launched its enhanced YAKAP Program (Yaman ng Kalusugan Para Malayo sa Sakit) at Gateway 2, Quantum Skyview in Cubao, Quezon City — an event led by no less than President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.
Previously known as the PhilHealth Konsulta Program, this revitalized initiative has been expanded to offer more comprehensive primary care services for all Filipinos. These include a wider range of free medicines, additional laboratory tests, and cancer screening services, now available at accredited healthcare facilities across the country.
In his speech during the launch, President Marcos emphasized that YAKAP aims to make essential health services more accessible, especially for workers and underserved communities. “We are making it easier for every Filipino to seek medical care before their condition worsens,” the President said.

Care Center: Gateway’s First Accredited YAKAP Clinic
At the heart of this event was Care Center Clinic, the first PhilHealth-accredited clinic at Gateway Mall to offer YAKAP services. The clinic is now ready to provide free consultations, diagnostic tests, and preventive healthcare under this upgraded package, reinforcing its mission to bring health closer to the community.
This is more than just a name change—it’s a shift in how we care, from treating illness to preventing it, said Jason Jalandoni, Care Center’s Business Development Head. “That has always been our mission at Care Center. Over the past year, we’ve supported PhilHealth Konsulta through pop-up clinics, medical missions, and outreach programs. Today, we take it a step further by hosting this launch and being a hub where Filipinos can access PhilHealth-accredited services.”
As part of the launch, President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. personally visited Care Center Clinic to witness firsthand the services being delivered under the YAKAP program. He was welcomed and guided through the facility by Care Center Business Development Head Jason Jalandoni, who showcased the clinic’s capabilities and the health services provided to Philhealth patients.
During the visit, the President observed consultations and services in action, engaging with healthcare professionals and beneficiaries. His presence reinforced the national importance of expanding access to primary care in everyday spaces like shopping malls — making healthcare more approachable and convenient for all.
A Unified Commitment to Public Health
The national launch was attended by key government leaders and health officials, reflecting a united front in the goal of universal health access. Among those present were:
- Sec. Frederick D. Go, Special Assistant to the President for Investment and Economic Affairs
- Sec. Bienvenido E. Laguesma, Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE)
- Sec. Teodoro Herbosa, Department of Health (DOH)
- Dr. Edwin M. Mercado, PhilHealth President and CEO
- Mr. Mar Roxas – Araneta City
- Senior PhilHealth officials, healthcare workers, and community partners
Their collective presence highlighted the strong government commitment to strengthening the country’s healthcare system — one clinic, one community at a time.
