Dr. Katrina Valencia Elequin is a dedicated dermatologist who believes in the strong link between healthy skin and self-confidence. She is committed to helping patients feel good inside and out.
Dr. Elequin began her dermatology practice in 2014. Although she initially aspired to become an OB-GYN, her interest shifted to dermatology as she encountered many patients struggling with skin conditions. Today, Dr. Elequin focuses on addressing acne, eczema, and bacterial infections, while also providing aesthetic treatments to enhance confidence and well-being.
Patient Approach
The most rewarding part of Dr. Elequin’s work is seeing her patients happy and self-assured with their skin. She strikes a balance between being approachable and firm, ensuring patients follow their treatment plans while creating a caring, positive experience.
Many patients come to her feeling nervous, unsure, or overwhelmed, especially if they’ve tried multiple online products or treatments without success. Dr. Elequin reassures them that they don’t need to be afraid or embarrassed because she’s there to guide them every step of the way. Skincare Philosophy
Dr. Elequin stresses the importance of a gentle, consistent skincare routine. She recommends:
- Gentle cleanser suitable for all skin types, even sensitive skin
- Good moisturizer with ceramides to strengthen the skin barrier
- Sunscreen (SPF 30+) applied regularly and reapplied during the day to prevent skin problems like melasma, pigmentation, irritations, and aging as well.
She also advises patients to maintain a low-calorie diet and limit fast food and processed meals, as these can trigger inflammation and contribute to acne.
